Yang Jia Executed, Communist Party Poisoned
by Liu Lu

On Tuesday November 25 Xinhua reported that the Supreme Peoples Court had confirmed Yang Jia's death sentence, and on Wednesday November 26 the execution was carried out. In the end they did not even let his mother see him one last time. This resulted in much scorn on the Chinese blogosphere. In fact this is standard practice for China's capital punishment. When the death sentence is ratified the executioners have already moved into action.

But this writer does not believe that the most important aspect is not whether Yang Jia is mentally ill, or whether his killing the police was the result of revenge for being beaten by the police, but the many legal irregularities in the course of the trial. A legal case that violates a country's own laws is like a poisoned tree, the fruit of that tree will be poisonous. There is a saying: The fruit of a poisoned tree cannot be eaten. If the party-state keeps eating this fruit, this writer predicts that although it was Yang Jia who was executed, it is the Communist Party that is being poisoned.
