Liberal Blog Site Shutdown by Chinese Authorities

Outspoken Chinese blog portal Bullog.cn (http://www.bullog.cn) has been shut down in the ongoing campaign against politically progressive mainland websites.

Bullog was founded by Professor Luo Yonghao, and featured the writing of well-known cultural and social activists including: Ai Weiwei, Han Han, Lian Yue, Ran Yunfei, Mo Zhixu, Wang Xiaoshan, Miao Wei, Zan Aizong, Bo Guoyong, Cui Weiping, Qian Liexian, Huang Jiwei, Huang Zhangjin.

This site had faced frequent deletions of content by the authorities, and the blogs of Ran Yunfei and Qian Liexian had been previously shutdown.

Bullog gained acclaim as a leading solicitor of contributions to the survivors of the Sichuan earthquake, raising more than 300,000 yuan for survivors and reconstruction. And in the Shanxi Province brick kiln human slavery case, more than 160,000 yuan was collected in less than one month by Bullog and was donated to 23 workers and their family members.
