TIBET: CPJ concerned about apparent hacking of popular Tibetan Web site

New York, May 27, 2008�� After learning that that the Tibetan commentator Woeser's U.S.-based Web site was apparently hacked today, the Committee to Protect Journalists released the following statement:
 
"This is a disturbing event. Woeser is a strong independent voice with contacts in the Tibetan areas of China. To see her site taken down in this way shows the difficulty Tibetans face in disseminating information about their homeland," said Bob Dietz, CPJ's Asia program coordinator.
