A group of overseas Chinese students flew two planes on June 4th 2010 tolling a huge banner on the Hudson River to commemorate the democratic movement in 1989. The banner was on the stage for three hours moving back and forth between the Statue of Liberty and Chinas Consulate-General in New York. With special permission from Air Control Center, the minimum height of the banner was just 500 feet, allowing long range of visibility by pedestrians on the ground.

The students made a successful fundraising through personal solicitations. Lingxi Kong, Yi Shi, Wendy Xu, and Jessie Wang were the main organizers; they are all international students from China. Dr. Juntao Wang and Professor Tiancheng Wang, the foremost leaders of Chinese democratic movement, were also invited to travel in the air.
