by Jiang Weiping Boxun reports that during Communist Party princeling Bo Xilai's (son of revolutionary elder Bo Yibo) rein as mayor of Dalian, many strange phenomena took place in the promotion of officials. First Strange Phenomenon: Official Sun Patronizes Brothel and Becomes Public Security Bureau Chief This describes an official who was made a county chief by Bo in the 1980s. He was patronizing a prostitute when three Dalian police raided the brothel and arrested him. Bo came to the police station and threatened the police chief that he would encounter trouble if he messed with any of Bo's allies again. The man walked free and eventually became Dalian Chief of Police. Needless to say, the police who once arrested him and their chief resigned from their posts and left the city.
