(Video/Photos) Urumqi Situation Dire, Military Enters City, Ethnic Massacre to Begin?

Boxun reports that on the morning of Tuesday July 7, more than 200 Uighurs gathered on the streets of Urumqi. Most were women, calling for the release of their male family members. In the presence of a delegation of foreign journalists, this group of women were chased and beaten by police.

A Chinese journalist reported that they were under orders not to report on the events without specific instructions. Telephone calls are very difficult to place to local reporters.

A reporter from Hong Kong's NowTV visited hospitals and saw injured Han, Hui and Uighurs. The journalists cannot get access to the Internet and cannot call out on their cellular telephones, only receive incoming calls.
