(Photo) Why Don't Lawyers Protest Law Student Fu Chengli's Death Sentence?
Boxun reports that attracting tremendous attention is the capital case of Fu Chengli, a law school student sentenced to death for killing China University of Politics and Law Professor Cheng Chunming last October.
While many lawyers pay lip service to abolishing the death penalty, will they not protest Fu's death sentence, indeed actively call for it, because he murdered one of their legal profession colleagues?
Fu said he killed Cheng in retaliation for the professor having sex with his ex-girlfriend.
Cheng, who studied in France for nearly a decade for a doctorate, served the university as a professor after returning home.
The case continues to receive nationwide coverage.
