Boxun reports that at 11 a.m. Sunday September 13, China Youth Net published an open letter with the potential to "shock the Chinese nation." The letter was signed by "The Officers and Soldiers of PLA Group Army Number 65, Number 196 Field Hospital." The letter called for the Communist Party to overturn its verdict on the events of June 4, 1989 and rehabilitate its participants and recognize it as a patriotic student movement. The letter goes on to describe the Party's reaction to the protests as "A brutal and ruthless act unprecedented in world history," and urges an end to single-Party rule and for the nationalization and professionalization of China's armed forces.
