LIU Dejun, civil rights activist, kidnapped by police and left in mountains

In the mid-night of June 15, Liu Dejun, a civil rights activist, was kidnapped from his home in Beijing. At around 11 Pm, Liu Dejun told his friend online that someone knocked his door. One hour later, LIU told his friend on phone that the people outside continued to knock the door.

At 4:30am, LIU sent message on Internet from his laptop asking for help. He was left to a road side in mountains outside Beijing. As his head was covered during the trip, he could not tell the location. His mobile phone was thrown away.

His experience was terrible.

His door was broken by police with plain clothes in the mid-night, his hands were tied by belt. Police beat him. Then his head was covered and kidnapped him to a police station. He did not where it was as he could not see.

In the station, police continued to beat him. Then put him in a car with head covered, dropped him in mountains.

Police warned him:��I will kill you if you come back to Beijing again��.

LIU found a bus and came back to Beijing in the morning. When Boxun reporter called his friend, he was having lunch with supporters, including the famous Ai Weiwei.

LIU told Boxun that he feels faint when stands up. He will go to hospital to check the injury. His head was kicked by police.

 

LIU Dejun is a Muslim, police used words to attack his religion in the police station.

LIU has been very active to help victims, including the famous case-Li Ruirui, who was raped by guard in black jail in last summer.

LIU also went to Yunnan to help the villagers suffering the unprecedented drought. He tried to raise money for villagers to build water supply.

Most recently, LIU and other netizens supported Yang Licai (an artist) and Ni Yulan. Ni Yulan lost her home and was sentenced when she tried to find justice. Ni is homeless and sleeps on street with her husband. She was abused and wheel-chaired.
