Petitioner Committed Suicide in front of Tiananmen Square

Chang Sha---Petitioner Dai Jian Ming has exhausted all options preventing his restaurant, which is his family¡¯s only income source, from being demolished.

 

Dai stabbed himself in front of Tiananmen Square this morning to not only raise media attention, but also urge the government solving one of the most serious social problems, that is illegal demolition. He was immediately sent to a local hospital for treatment.

 

Dai had openly announced his suicide plan few days before the real action was taken.However, the government has done nothing to stop this tragedy.  According to the latest information, Dai's restaurant has already been destroied.

 

This video was taken on the night of Jan. 14 by Boxun reporter, in the video, Dai talks about his decision to commit suicide. During recording, police came, so the group walked away, Dai disappeared since then.
