Boxun will keep the original report, but released the following statement:

The news release about WU is not right. We have learned in a few sources that he is fine. One source met WU on the night of August 29. WU has been in Tianjin for a five-day meeting. He has arrived Shunyi, Beijing for another conference. WU was applauded when he showed up in the conference in Shunyin at night. He was asked for this scandal, he did not response.

Boxun received a few responses soon after we made the news release, as Boxun learned that the scandal had spread from internal for a few days before Boxun published the news on August 28, we believed that it was accurate, thus did not delete or explain further. After the meeting of the night of August 29, we believe that WU himself is free and does not in trouble at the moment.

Source told Boxun: The most famous economist Wu Jinglian is detained recently by State Security. It said that he is involved in a spying scandal for the USA.
